Does this teacher not listen to the news and the thousands of Christians that are being slaughtered for their Christian faith?

And we wonder what is wrong with this country.

School Rejects Censorship as a Matter of Principal

Tony Perkins

Family Research Council

Texas is known for a lot of things — but pushovers aren’t one of them. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) learned that the hard way when it picked a fight with White Oak High School. Using its small-town playbook, the atheist activists fired off a warning to the district complaining about a principal that reads a scripture as part of his morning announcements.

Dan Noll’s “Thoughts of the Day” had never been controversial before, so when a student recorded the audio and sent it to the Left’s attack dogs, it caused quite a stir. But if FFRF thought a little letter would scare Superintendent Michael Gilbert, they had another thing coming. In a response that should bring a smile to the face of every Christian conservative in America, Gilbert took it to the Left’s bullies with this fiery response.

“Let me be clear, this is an attempt to draw us into a contest of words for the sole purpose of giving the FFRF a large amount of free press/recognition that they and their very few members (1,200 in Texas) do not deserve. This group and others like it, are wanting us to provide them with negative quotes to use in the promotion of their agenda. We can and will make the adjustments needed to ensure our students experience a morally sound, positive character based education. There are a multitude of options to provide our students, faculty and staff the opportunity to express their First Amendment Rights as provided for in the United States Constitution. Let me also be clear that we have not (in my opinion) violated anyone’s rights and/or subjected anyone to undue stress. Bible studies and scriptures are allowed in schools.”

Then, with perfect pitch, he wished the Foundation well. “I’m sorry you feel (this) way,” he said. “I will be praying for you and your staff daily.” At a time when most educators are tripping over themselves to do the Left’s bidding, Michael Gilbert’s courage is exactly what the doctor ordered. Our ten-gallon hats go off to the Superintendent for teaching these liberals a lesson in religious liberty!

Texas Principal Reinstated – Possibly Suspended for Linking to Christian Website

BRIGHT

by Bob Price

Dr. Imelda Medrano and Katy ISD Superintendent Alton Frailey.

A Katy, Texas, junior high school principal was reinstated after being put on administrative leave earlier this month. Katy Independent School District (ISD) officials would not confirm the reason for the punishment. Parents believe Seven Lakes Junior High School Principal Dr. Imelda Medrano (on right in the photo above) was placed on administrative leave because she sent out a newsletter with a warning to parents. The newsletter linked to a Christian parenting website.

The website, Crosswalk.com, contained information the principal believed would be helpful in alerting the parents in her school about the potential dangers to children from phone apps like Snapchat and Vine, according to an article in the Houston Chronicle by St. John Barned-Smith. The district emailed parents on January 12th to advise them to disregard the article sent out by the principal. They chose instead to refer parents to the school district’s website on cyberbullying.

Crosswalk.com tells the story of a twelve-year-old girl who was lured away from her home by a 21-year-old man who allegedly took her to a motel and had sex with her. He allegedly used an app named Whisper to communicate with the girl on the cellphone her parents had given her. The Crosswalk.com article cites several apps for phones they believe parents should watch out for. Those include Kik, Snapchat, Vine, ChatRoulette, Omegle, Tinder and Poof. It describes why the apps can be dangerous and suggests how parents should talk to their children about them.

Earlier in the week, the Chronicle reported that parents had organized a Facebook group to support Medrano. They expressed dismay that the principal had been put on leave with no explanation from school district officials. “I think we are just in this limbo,” said Jennifer Gawne in the article, a parent to two eighth-grade students at the middle school. “Mum has been the word,” she said. “No one knows why she was put on leave.”

However, the email sent out from the district reveals what many parents believed to be a clue. The email stated, “On Friday, January 9, you may have received an eNews containing an article titled ‘9 Most Dangerous Apps for Kids’ which was obtained from a website that had not undergone a thorough review and approval process for content distribution. Please disregard that article and content.”

Katy ISD Police also tweeted out a link to the Crosswalk.com article.

Katy ISD Police Tweet

In another message from Katy ISD parents were advised, “Please know, the Seven Lakes Junior High staff and administration is committed to its students, mission and tradition and will do everything necessary to ensure the continued success of our students during this interim process.”

The district’s lack of communication as to the reason for the suspension is leaving parents concerned. One parent, MariAnne Petry Vondenstein expressed her concern in the Facebook support group. After expressing support for the principal she said, “I think we are in serious need of the district to tell us what the reason was she was put on Admin Leave. We have had at least one child in SLJH since the doors opened, and currently have one in school and have had nothing but respect for the way she runs the school and the way she has handled situations we were involved in. BUT the fact remains, unless someone here has the ‘skinny’ on the actually [sic] reason for her current situation, I think the only thing we should be demanding now is, WHAT WAS THE CAUSE?”

“If anything she did was in direct harm or ill regard to any of our children, we have the right to know. If it was a religious email, that may or may not have offended someone, we have the right to know. We have the right to know what it was the person we entrusted our dearest treasures (our children) to her hands every day for years could have possibly done to be removed and replaced literally in a matter of days,” Vondenstein concluded.

Michelle Braud conveyed what she had learned from the district. “I attended Leadership Katy yesterday and had the opportunity to ask what the situation is in regards to Dr Medrano,” she explained. “The response was that there is nothing to do with the kids and that she is undergoing a personal review at this time. That’s all they will say right now.”

Many parents expressed support for Medrano. Jennifer Gawne said, “As a parent, I have never seen a Principal so accessible to parents. She really does have an open door policy. She gets back to you very quickly when you email her as well.”

“One of the things that impressed me most was the surveys sent out at the end of each year where Dr. Medrano asks for feedback for how our campus, teachers AND principals are doing,” Gawne continued. “She does this because she is always looking for ways to improve both her performance and to make our school a better place. She WANTS parent involvement and goes out of her way to make parents feel comfortable when they come on to campus.”

On Friday, Katy ISD superintendent Alton Frailey, shown with Dr. Medrano in the photo above, sent yet another email to parents. “Following an administrative review, I am pleased to share that effective Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2015, Dr. Medrano was reinstated as principal at SLJH,” Frailey wrote in the email. He explained that she would be back in school Tuesday.

“I appointed Dr. Medrano to open SLJH in 2012 and since then, she has demonstrated successful leadership capacity at the school,” he concluded. “She has my full support and confidence as she continues as principal at SLJH.”

The school provided no further information about the cause of the administrative review or the suspension.

Syria Mass Grave of Christians

Muslims often proclaim ‘..we acknowledge Jesus is a prophet,

we believe in Isa..’  The only thing is, they massacre all who

follow Him.

by, ICN | h/t David Wood – Answering Muslims

The bodies of 30 Christian civilians, including women and children, killed by Islamist militias, have been found in two separate mass graves, in the city of Sadad. The number of Christian civilians  confirmed dead in this small town halfway between Homs and Damascus has reached 45. Many are injured and several are missing.
The city of Sadad, a Christian settlement, was invaded and occupied by Islamist militias on 21 October. It was recaptured in recent days by the Syrian regular army. When the representatives of the Patriarchate and families of the victims returned to their town they found to their horror two mass graves, where they found the bodies of their relatives and friends. In an atmosphere of grief, outrage and emotion, the funerals of the 30 Christians were celebrated by Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh, Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and Hama.
.
According to eyewitnesses, many of the civilians were killed by militia gangs of ‘Al- Nusra Front’ and ‘Daash’. The city has been completely destroyed and looted. Some of the militants who invaded the city were holed up in the Syriac Orthodox Church of St Theodore, which was profaned. Sadad is an ancient Syriac village which dates back to 2000 BC located in the region of Qalamoon, north of Damascus. It had 14 churches, a monastery, temples, historic landmarks and archaeological sites.
Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh said: “What happened in Sadad is the most serious and biggest massacre of Christians in Syria in the past two and a half years… 45 innocent civilians were martyred for no reason, and among them several women and children, many thrown into mass graves. Other civilians were threatened and terrorized. 30 were wounded and 10 are still missing.

“For one week, 1,500 families were held as hostages and human shields. Among them children, the elderly, the young, men and women. Some of them fled on foot travelling eight kilometres from Sadad to Al-Hafer to find refuge. About 2,500 families fled from Sadad, taking only their clothes, due to the irruption of armed groups and today they are refugees scattered between Damascus, Homs, Fayrouza, Zaydal, Maskane, and Al-Fhayle”.
The Archbishop said: “There is no electricity, water and telephone in the city. All the houses of Sadad were robbed and property looted. The churches are damaged and desecrated, deprived of old books and precious furniture. Schools, government buildings, municipal buildings have been destroyed, along with the post office, the hospital and the clinic”.
“What happened in Sadad” he said “is the largest massacre of Christians in Syria and the second in the Middle East, after the one in the Church of Our Lady of Salvation in Iraq, in 2010″.
Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh concluded: “We have shouted aid to the world but no one has listened to us. Where is the Christian conscience? Where is human consciousness? Where are my brothers? I think of all those who are suffering today in mourning and discomfort: We ask everyone to pray for us.”

New Extremist Foxes Welcomed into U.S. Chicken Coop

by Douglas Murray
October 10, 2013 at 5:00 am

http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/4002/extremist-foxes

Imagine that in recent weeks alone, dozens of Muslims around the world had been murdered by Christian extremists armed with suicide belts and similar paraphernalia.

Imagine that at the same time, around other parts of the world, Christian mobs had set fire to, and burned to the ground, the holy places of some of the oldest and most established Muslim communities in the world.

Do you think there would be a reaction to such events? Probably yes. Would that reaction be wholly negative and unceasing in its condemnation? Probably yes. Would it be remotely conceivable that a senior U.S. government official or advisor would have used the opportunity to claim that Muslims who had been targeted had brought it upon themselves? Probably no.

Welcome then to the mirror-image of the real-world persecution of Christians that is going on across the globe today.

And say hello again to two of the most appallingly over-promoted and sinister figures involved with the current U.S. government: Mohamed Elibiary  and Dalia Mogahed

Of course, you may not want to: as the terror goes on worldwide, and the situation around the globe slips continuously in the Islamists’ general direction, there is a growing and terrific ennui among much of the West. Among much of the Western world, terrorists’ marauding is another case of, “Oh, just that Islamism again.” You say a person is not good? Well, we can’t be bothered to find out. The very condition that so few people can raise themselves to be bothered is part of the problem: “The trouble with all the nice people I knew in Germany,” the British author Stephen Spender wrote in his Berlin diary in the 1930s, “is that they were either tired or weak.”

Thankfully there are a number of people who can still rouse themselves to point out how outrageous Western governments’ hiring policies are these days — as when Mohamed Elibiary was promoted to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Advisory Council. Yet despite these heroic individuals pointing out Elibiary’s track record of support for Islamists worldwide, the appointment held — and so it was that the U.S. government welcomed another fox into its chicken coop.

Now an American official can not only fail to stand by America’s friends – he can actually blame them for the persecution they are suffering. Over recent days, one of the effects of this has already been felt: in September, when violence against Egypt’s Copts had reached another peak, the new Department of Homeland Security Homeland Security Advisor, Elibiary, used his twitter account to blame American Coptic activists for the murder of their co-religionists by Muslim Brotherhood extremists of the type Elibiary has a track record of supporting.

On September 15, he wrote, “For decade since 9/11 attack extremist American Coptic activists have nurtured anti Islam and anti Muslim sentiments among AM RT wing.” A day earlier, Elibiary blamed American Copts for protesting against attacks on their relatives in Egypt, and recommended an article “on need to reform #Coptic activism in #US including stop promoting #Islamophobia.”

So while Copts were actually being targeted and killed in Egypt, Mr. Elbiary chose to try to switch attention onto the fictional persecution of Muslims in the U.S. There is nothing quite like someone excusing one crime-in-progress by citing a non-existent other crime — except for, of course, a U.S. government official doing the same.

Unfortunately, thanks to our enthusiastic, politically-correct attitudes and radical Islamist ideologies, Elibiary is not alone in the U.S. administration.

It was Dalia Mogahed, you will recall, who helped President Obama draft the 2009 Cairo Speech — a “reset” speech, regarded as seminal across several rooms in the White House. It was Mogahed who helped draft the address which apologized for America’s past actions while giving the benefit of the doubt to most of its self-stated enemies.

Mogahed is not only one of the geniuses credited with that speech; her record also includes other glowing occasions. Such as the time, that same year, in which she cropped up on a U.K. television program, which aired on the most notorious satellite Islamist channel. Mogahed took part in a discussion about the empowerment of women through Sharia. She participated, seemingly happily, in the program hosted — and introduced as such — by a member of the radical Islamist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir. Mogahed also seemed unfazed when, for instance, passionate fellow participants called for the restoration of the Caliphate (a key pipedream of Hizb-ut-Tahrir).

Incidents like that have been used against her. But these things have a tendency to come and go. A little flare-up of bad publicity here, the rebuttal of legitimate concerns and an accusation of “Islamophobia” there — it is all part of the mood-music.[Note: Mogahed will be appearing at the egregious, MB-loaded, “Global Faith Forum” interfaith dialogue da’wah event in November, in Keller, TX at the Northwood “Christian” church.—Dorrie]

Dalia Mogahed’s latest popping-up however, makes all her previous ones not only explicable but mild: After 80 Coptic churches had been burned down by Brotherhood supporters, Ms. Mogahed decided to single out for criticism not the perpetrators but — the Egyptian media! “The Egyptian media took advantage of the Copts to achieve many personal/political gains which has angered the West,” she wrote on one of the Facebook pages to which she spends her time contributing: “Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights.” All of which adds up to one of the strangest sets of messages any American government has surely ever given out.

If you were one of those Christian Copts standing in the ruins of your village or church, what message would you take from all this? If the officials of the current U.S. administration are managing to blame the media, or even fellow Copts in the U.S., for your slaughter and the desecration of your churches, would it be any surprise if they took the message that the current U.S. administration is not just indifferent to the suffering of Christians across the Middle East and the rest of the world, but actively asking them, “Would you mind dying quietly, pleas

Texas Teacher Demonizes Christian Parents

 teacher talk

We unfortunately live in a society today where a sense of decency often is  something that is not valued. What is even worse is that many of those individuals who devalue decency have the job of teaching and instilling unfavorable behavior traits in our children. Such is the case with one Texas Teacher.

This Texas Teacher has shared with her students through twitter that parents that teach that evolution is a “LIE” are hurting the nation and killing innovation”. George West ISD’s 7th grade math teacher Mrs. Pawelek has two twitter accounts. She has set up one for her students where she she post comments and photos of her students (has she informed the parents that she is taking photos of their children and posting them on the internet?) I found Ms. Pawelek’s Tweet below disturbing! The fact that she could be so bold and insensitive to students who believe in Intelligent Design, be they Christian, Jew or just Creationists of any stripe is concerning and offensive.

Mrs. Pawelek has also put herself in a position above her student’s parents in challenging their opinion when it disagrees with her own. How dare she spew her indoctrination and demonize the parents of the children in her classroom. I wonder how Mrs. Pawelek would respond if her own child was in my music or dance class or whatever and I had a twitter account for the class where I told my students that any parent who denied creationism must be pagan and is going to Hell. I am sure that she would remove her child from my class and give me a good cussing, which I would rightfully deserve. The sad difference is the fact that it is not nearly so easy to remove my child from her grasp and my tax dollars pay her salary either way.

      Her classroom twitter account.

Brenda 3

As a side note, why is it that the progressive liberals can’t or won’t allow competing ideas on evolution, education, etc.? The evolution “science” takes more faith than it takes to believe in Creationism or Intelligent Design.

Brenda Pawelek has another twitter account where she exercises no restraint on her foul language. Do you find it funny that both of the posts by her below start out with the premise of Deity? “OMG” doesn’t the G stand for God? And how about “Holy S..t”, OK maybe that is a stretch, but the point is that while our teachers have a right to their first ammendment right as much as the next person, in my opinion they should always remember that our kids are looking. I don’t personally know Mrs. Pawelek but maybe since she believes we came to being via evolution over time which, when partnered with the concept of no God, leads to a life of no moral absolutes which frees oneself to act anyway they choose with no right or wrong behavior other than their own opinion.

Surely we can do better than this when choosing educators for our most precious resource, our children.
