A pro-family organization is outraged that in recent weeks radical Islamists have murdered hundreds of Christians around the world – and that the White House has been silent about the slaughter.

What accounts for the White House silence on scores of Christians being slaughtered abroad by radical Islamic groups?

The American Family Association has compiled a list of six incidents in the past two weeks where Islamic jihadists targeted Christians for assassination solely because of their faith in Christ. Entire families, including children, were slaughtered in their homes, churches, and public gatherings.

Perhaps the highest-profile incident was on September 21 in Nairobi, Kenya, when members of the al Qaida-linked Somali terrorist group al Shabab killed 67 Christians at the Westgate Mall after people who identified themselves as Muslims were allowed to leave. In other incidents, 90 Christians were slaughtered by Islamic suicide bombers in Pakistan – and Christians were among the 50 students murdered at a school in Nigeria.

In its public statement, AFA points out that “ironically, while Christian lives are being silenced by radical jihadists,” the White House has been silent. Bryan Fischer is AFA’s director of issues analysis.

Bryan Fischer

“It’s very clear that we have a president who is far more sympathetic to Islam than he is to Christianity,” he tells OneNewNow. “And everywhere that this president has used his influence around the world, he has emboldened the forces of radical Islam and has exposed the lives of Christians to great risk.”

And Fischer points out that jihadists recently went into a 2,000-year old Syrian village and murdered many Christians, before Bashar Assad’s Syrian army retook the town. “Our president is actually arming the very rebels who are actually killing Christians in that land – and it’s absolutely shameful,” he states.

Fischer says AFA is calling on Christians to urge President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry to break their silence and condemn the killing of Christians by Islamic terrorists.

TX District Nixes Student-Tracking Program

In a victory for those concerned about government intrusion into the private lives of citizens, a Texas school has decided to cancel its student electronic surveillance program.

Would you favor an electronic ‘Student Locator Program’ in your local public schools? (Poll Closed)

John Whitehead of The Rutherford Institute says his firm filed suit in November 2012 against Northside Independent School District on behalf of 13-year-old Andrea Hernandez, who objected to the surveillance badges because of her religious beliefs. Whitehead says the San Antonio-based district has finally decided to drop the program “because of problems getting it moving.”

“What they found was that a lot of the students were still objecting to it, so they decided to scrap it – and the lawsuit was obviously part of it,” he tells OneNewsNow. “What it shows, I think, is that if you stand for freedom, sometimes – even when it’s tough – you can make changes.”

School officials cited as reasons for their decision factors such as low participation rates, negative publicity, and the lawsuit.

The attorney says Hernandez, who was expelled from the school in January for her refusal to wear the device, is now seeking to be reinstated to John Jay High School’s Science and Engineering Academy.

“We’re negotiating now with the school district and their lawyers, hoping to get her back into this school,” he explains. “It’s one of the best academies in the area, and she’s a very bright kid. Hopefully they’ll be reasonable and let her back in.”

According to Whitehead, students who refused to cooperate with the “Student Locator Program” were punished by being denied access to the school cafeteria and library and the privilege of purchasing tickets for extracurricular events.
